Our engagement photographers are based across Lisbon, Cascais, Sintra, and Puerto Vallarta, and instead of posing you, we guide you into movement and actions that feel natural. We give you something to do with your hands, a direction to walk, a moment to sit in. No stiff poses, nothing forced, and the photos end up looking candid because they are.

We photograph engagement sessions across Lisbon, Cascais, Sintra, and Puerto Vallarta. We work with each couple to find a location that fits — a specific neighborhood, a stretch of coastline, or somewhere with the light and feel you’re looking for. We’re happy to suggest spots based on what you have in mind.
Wear something you genuinely feel comfortable in that fits the location. Solid, light, neutral colors (ie: whites, creams, pastels) photograph more cleanly than busy prints or dark colors. Avoid anything you’d feel stiff or overdressed in — the session moves around, so comfort matters.
In Lisbon, Alfama and Belém are popular for their architecture and evening light. For something more open, the Cascais coastline works well. Sintra offers a completely different feel — lush hills, palace gardens, and a misty, dramatic backdrop that photographs unlike anywhere else in Portugal. We help couples choose based on the look they’re after.

Most sessions are one hour. That gives enough time to move through a couple of spots, let you both relax into it, and get a strong range of photos.
Most engagement sessions include 60 edited, high-resolution photos. We shoot in natural light and focus on getting it right in camera, so the editing is minimal and the photos look consistent and timeless.
We schedule sessions either in the early morning or at golden hour, roughly an hour before sunset. The light is softer and more flattering, and locations in Lisbon, Sintra, Cascais, and Puerto Vallarta tend to be quieter during those times.
If you need photos for save the dates, book at least three months before you need to send them. Otherwise, two to six months before the wedding is typical. Standalone sessions have no timeline requirement.
Yes. Video and drone add-ons are available for engagement sessions across all our locations.
Engagement session pricing at Chas Studios varies depending on location, season, and package, however, you can expect to pay around $450 USD. Sessions are available across Lisbon, Cascais, Sintra, and Puerto Vallarta.
