Lisbon Family Photographer
We’re Diego and Taylor, a husband-and-wife photography team based in Lisbon, and we photograph family sessions across the city and surrounding areas. Alfama’s cobbled streets, Belém’s waterfront, the gardens of Sintra, the coastline in Cascais — we work around where you’re staying and what fits your family best.
Most families have never had a proper photoshoot before, and that’s fine. We guide everyone through it — kids included — with enough direction to keep things moving and enough room to let real moments happen. The result looks relaxed because we work to make it that way.
Lisbon’s light is part of what makes these sessions work. Early morning and the hour before sunset are when the city looks its best, and we schedule sessions around that whenever possible.
Whether you’re here on vacation, celebrating a milestone, or just want something from this time together in Portugal, we create photos that hold up long after the trip.

We are based in Lisbon, Portugal.
Our photographic style can be described as soft, organic, and classic, using lots of natural light and minimal editing to maintain the natural beauty of your photographs.
We incorporate elements of both photojournalism and traditional photography. This harmonious approach captures your family photoshoot as it unfolds naturally while ensuring we take essential portraits of the families.
We photograph family sessions across Lisbon and the surrounding area. Popular locations include Alfama, Chiado, and Belém in the city, as well as Cascais and Sintra for families staying along the coast. We’ll recommend a specific location based on where you’re staying, the age of your kids, and the kind of photos you’re after.
We recommend having the photo session in the morning, 1-2 hours after sunrise, or in the evening, one hour before sunset. However, anytime is possible. Ask for specific times as sunrise and sunset change throughout the year.
Normally, one hour is enough. When there are more than 12 people, we recommend 1.5-2 hours to have photos of each family member and groups of families.
For a one-hour photo session, we deliver at least 60 photos selected and edited. For a two-hour photo session, we deliver at least 120 photos selected and edited.
We recommend light, comfortable beachwear. As an example, women could wear dresses and men could wear linen pants. Neutral colors always look great, such as white/cream, gray, tans, and browns, or pastel colors. Solid colors (rather than prints) allow for a clean, minimal look. Recommend accessories: hats, sunglasses, and scarves.
You will receive photos no later than 7 days after the session.
For photography, we use the Canon R6 and R6 Mark II and Alien Bee lighting equipment. Lenses: 24-70 2.8, 70-200 2.8, 50mm 1.4, and 100mm macro 1.4. For video, we use the Sony FX3, DJI Mini 4 Pro drone, Ronin RSC2 stabilizer, DJI microphones, and ZOOM H6 audio recorder.
As stated in our cancellation policy, we hold onto the deposit as a cancellation fee. However, you can use the deposit toward a future photoshoot without an expiration date.
We recommend that our clients look for photo inspiration on Pinterest and Instagram and share them with us. That way, we’ll know what kind of photos you like.
Yes! Our in-house videographer provides short films with aerial drone footage.
Most families feel a little unsure at the start — that’s completely normal. We guide you through it from the beginning, giving everyone simple prompts to keep things moving naturally. Kids especially tend to loosen up quickly once they’re walking around and exploring. Little by little, everyone forgets the camera is there, and that’s when the best photos happen.
We can remove background objects, adjust lighting, and correct aesthetics. The possibilities are endless but edits are light to maintain the natural beauty of the photograph.
