Meet Diego

PHOTOGRAPHER

A bit about Diego (written, of course, by his very unbiased wife): Diego is the kind of person who makes you feel like you’ve known him for years—calm, relaxed, and with a quiet kindness that instantly puts people at ease. At first, he might seem introverted, but give him five minutes and you’ll realize he’s a closet extrovert.

Originally from Argentina, Diego moved to Mexico City in 2005 to study at the Academy of Visual Arts, where he fell in love with fashion and editorial photography, working on both sides of the camera for over a decade. In 2019, he relocated to Puerto Vallarta, where we launched Chas Studios and began building our wedding and event work across Mexico. As the brand grew, we expanded into Portugal.

Diego’s the guy who’s everywhere and nowhere at the same time—blending into the background while catching the moments you didn’t even realize were happening. And when needed, he steps in with just enough direction to make you feel comfortable and look like yourself. Nothing forced, nothing stiff—just real moments, exactly as they felt.

Meet Taylor

CREATIVE DIRECTOR & FILMMAKER

Diego and I met eight years ago in Mexico City—fell in love, got married, and started building a life (and business) together. In 2017, we moved to Puerto Vallarta, where we launched Chas Studios and began photographing weddings and events across Mexico. As the company grew, we expanded into Portugal.

I’m the creative director and filmmaker at Chas Studios, where I lead our wedding and event films from concept through to final edit. I plan each shoot, film on the day, and work closely with our clients to make sure everything feels natural, intentional, and true to them.

Born in Canada and raised a little bit of everywhere, I’ve always been drawn to travel and connecting with people from different backgrounds and cultures. When I’m not filming or on the road, you’ll usually find me playing tennis or writing.

Meet Cristel

PHOTOGRAPHER

With over 13 years of experience in photography, Cristel brings a strong eye for creative direction and composition to every shoot. She is known for guiding couples into editorial-style poses that feel natural, relaxed, and intentional, striking a balance between candid energy and refined imagery.

Cristel holds a degree in Multimedia Communication from El Centro Universitario de la Costa (Universidad de Guadalajara). She began her career as a Graphic Designer at Vidanta Group, where she worked in video production and graphic animation, shaping the visual sensibility that now defines her photographic approach. Her background in design allows her to see beyond the moment, creating images that feel styled, cinematic, and thoughtfully composed without ever feeling forced.

Meet Minerva

PHOTOGRAPHER

Minerva brings over 10 years of experience and an editorial, documentary-driven eye shaped by her formal training in Visual Arts at the University of Guadalajara and photojournalism studies at WSP Photography School in Rome. Her work blends structure with spontaneity, drawing from art, music, and visual storytelling to create images that feel intentional, layered, and emotionally grounded.

Minerva has exhibited her work in group shows including The Other City at Casa Escorza, Migrant Dreams at the National School of Plastic Arts (UNAM), and Punk Portraits at the Laboratory of Variety Arts (LARVA). She has also served as General and Artistic Director of the Costa Wedding photography agency and has been a key part of the Chas Studios team for over three years, contributing her creative vision and documentary sensibility.

Meet David & Angel

FILMMAKERS

David and Angel have both been drawn to storytelling from a young age, fascinated by how a camera can turn real moments into something timeless. What began as a shared curiosity evolved into a passion that led them to study film and build a career capturing people’s stories.

Their background spans social media content, documentary work, and now, wedding films, where everything they’ve learned about light, pacing, and emotion comes together. From flying the drone to finding the perfect track for the edit, they approach every film as a seamless collaboration.

Their style blends documentary realism with a poetic eye for detail, and they’re constantly inspired by the privilege of documenting such meaningful days, moments that remind them why they started filming in the first place.
